Who Can Refer ?
Only the member of VACT can refer the candidates. Any number of candidates can be referred by particular VACT member. VACT will offer one candidate per VACT member in an academic year. However this will be reviewed based on financial status.
VACT member who are not active (those not donated for last 3 months) cannot refer the candidates. VACT member CANNOT refer their immediate family members / blood relations as candidates. However their distance relations/friends are acceptable if the candidate profile matches the below VACT eligibility criteria.
Candidate Eligibility - General
- Should be from economically underprivileged family in India.
- Preference will be given for candidate lost his/her father or mother (earning source).
- School Candidates: Eligible only for Government and Government aided schools.
- College Candidates: Eligible for Government, Government aided and Private Colleges.
- No bar on gender/religious/castes/languages.
- Eligible Candidates can be from school, engineering, medical, arts, science, law colleges, polytechnics and ITI's.
- Referred candidate's current minimum education shall be 6th standard.
Family annual income should less than Rs.60,000 for School Candidates, less than Rs.75,000 Arts/Science/Law College and Polytechnic, less than Rs.100,000 for Engineering College and less than Rs.120,000 for Medical College.
Candidate Eligibility - Marks
- Should be from economically underprivileged family in India.
For +2 to college candidates: Should have got apprx. 85% marks in +2 pubic examinations (>1000 marks out of 1200)
For SSLC to HSC candidates: Should have got 80% marks in SSLC pubic examinations (>400 marks out of 500)
Other classes (school): More than 75% of marks in their Quarterly, Half-yearly and Annual exams.
For college/polytechnic/ITI candidates: Should have got more than 70% of marks in their last semester examinations.
Not Eligible if, Candidate's parents/brothers/sisters are in government/private job earning more than the criteria specified.
Not Eligible if, Candidates referred for private schools.
Not Eligible if, If VACT member found/reports that family's status is fair and not that much poor during the visit to candidates home.
Not Eligible if, Candidate selected from management quota.
Funding To Candidates
Complete/partial tuition fee will be paid based on case to case.
Tuition fee will be paid directly to college/school.
Other fees like hostel fee, transport fee, book fee, uniforms etc will be paid depends on the candidates verification report (Appendix-III) prepared by assigned VACT member.
In any case if the tuition fee paid by VACT is returned (either complete / partial) by government or college/school management in future (e.g. first graduate scenario), the refunded money to be returned to VACT by the candidate. Referee is responsible for this.
If the candidate scores poor marks (below 60%) or failed during VACT funded year/semester, the reason will be analyzed with the help of referee. If the reason doesn't satisfy to VACT, then fund will be stopped immediately to the candidate.
If the candidate involved in unwanted activities and gets suspended / dismissed by college/school management during VACT funded year, the reason will be analyzed with the help of referee. If the reason doesn't satisfy to VACT, the fund will be stopped immediately to the candidate.
Funding will be immediately stopped if the candidate's family income reaches the criteria specified above in the middle of their schooling / college.
Funding will be immediately stopped if VACT comes to know that the information provided by the candidate (like family income / mark details etc) is not true.
Fee for succeeding years/semesters will be bear by VACT based on candidate's performance on last year/semester and family's income. Candidate Performance Report (Appendix-IV) will be prepared before every term fee. Based on the satisfaction of the report, VACT will decide on the payment of next term fee.
Earlier source of fee to be declared by the candidate.
Family asset details to be declared by the candidate and same shall be verified by VACT member/committee.
Candidates are encouraged to join VACT to serve the other needy after completing their studies and found a job.
Referrer's Responsibilities
- To fill the candidate reference form (Appendix-I) and submit to VACT.
- To fill and make available the candidate's interim report (Appendix-II) at least 3 months once to VACT.
- To involve in the reason analysis if the referred candidate doesn't score good marks (below 60%) or failed or involved in unwanted activities and gets suspended / dismissed by college/school management during VACT funded year/semester.
- To help in the preparation of Candidate Performance Report.
